Sustainability and Green Technology

Bridgehead understands the importance of creating globally environmentally responsible materials and technology using good methods and practices.  Green materials development involves the design, manufacture and use of materials and processes that are safe, non-polluting, more efficient and environmentally sound in use of energy and raw materials and that create a minimum of waste.  We are moving into a new phase of sustainable development and green manufacturing.  An area of growing focus is the use of bio-based raw materials to make benign and more easily degradable products.  With the growth and development of bio-fuels and other bio-based organic materials, there is a growing use of non-petroleum based compounds as feed stocks for new families of products including polymers, resins, rubbers, plastics and composites.

Demand for sustainable, “organic”, environmentally friendly, and bio-based products in the area of foods, personal care and consumer goods is growing.  This trend is driving companies to create a more transparently sustainable, safe, energy conservative and environmentally friendly profile for more and more of their products and processes.  Market areas that are being impacted include health care products, cosmetics, toiletries, paints, household cleaners and others.

Sustainability is a global challenge which cannot be ignored.  A top issue in sustainable development is energy efficiency, production and conservation. We are dedicated to building on a vision of sustainability.
